modernize this story

I will replace the telegram inside with a mobile phone, or the news on TV, etc.
I will change the plot to make this ending more dramatic. For example, Mr. Mallard deliberately made his wife and friends think he was dead. He wanted to get rid of his wife long ago, but he never found a chance. Just taking this opportunity to get his wife's heart attack so he can start his new life
